Our August 2017 release features were available beginning Friday, August 18th, 2017. Read below for information on all the great new features and enhancements you have on your site.
Class Section and Group Member Visibility
After this release, a new privacy tool will allow teachers and group managers to set the visibility of their members list. This allows teachers and group managers to keep their rosters confidential, even to members of the class or group. Additionally, we have created a master setting that can be applied at the school or district level so that any new section or group created will automatically have this set by default.
Hiding Email Addresses in Public Directories and Profile Pages
We have added protection for faculty and staff email addresses by providing an option that will allow you to hide email addresses for your users on the directory and public profile pages. Visitors to your website will be able to see the contact information on demand but bots will not be able to harvest your faculty's email addresses!
Feed and Event Block Auto-play Options
Like our image gallery carousels, site administrators, teachers, and group managers now have the option to set auto-play for Feed and Event Blocks. This allows the block to auto scroll through posts and events!
Extending Sharing for Feed Posts and Events
Ever create an event but forget to add it to a particular section or the public calendar? Now as a teacher you can edit and add events and posts to additional sections that you might not have assigned them to originally. This allows you to easily reuse events or posts from last year by editing and adding them to sections this fall!
