Create an Assessment

Where To Go

Instructors can create an assessment to be used for quizzes and exams that can be autograded by designating the correct answers for each question. To create a quiz, click on your class tile > Learn > Green + button > Assessment.

 

What To Do

  1. Enter Assessment Title, description, attach a file, etc.
  2. To randomize the question order, check the box next to Randomize question order
  3. Click Create
  4. Click Questions
  5. Click New Questions
  6. Choose from:
    • True or False
      1. Enter the number of points that the question is worth
      2. Enter question text
      3. Select if the question is True or False
      4. Click Create
    • Multiple Choice
      1. Enter the number of points that the question is worth
      2. Enter question text
      3. Select whether to randomize answer order
      4. Enter the answer choices. If the Answer Choice is an image, click on the image icon to upload an image from My Files or Class Resources
      5. Select if the answer is a correct answer.
      6. To add more answer choices, click on Add Another Answer
      7. Click Create
    • Ordering
      1. Enter the number of points that the question is worth
      2. Enter question text
      3. Enter the ordering items
      4. Click and drag the items entered into the correct order.  If the ordering item is an image, click on the image icon to upload an image from My Files or Class Resources
      5. Click Create
    • Short Answer
      1. Enter the number of points that the question is worth
      2. Enter question text
      3. Click Create
        Note: Short Answer questions cannot be autograded and must be manually reviewed and graded by the instructor.
    • Fill in the Blank
      1. Enter the number of points that the question is worth
      2. Enter question text and insert a _ in your question or statement where the answer should be
      3. Select whether the answer is case sensitive
      4. Enter an acceptable answer into the field and click on the Add Acceptable Answer button to add more acceptable answers.
      5. Click Create
    • Matching
      1. Enter the number of points that the question is worth
      2. Enter question text
      3. Enter the correct answer pairs into the fields listed.  If the matching items are images, click on the image icon to the answer fields to upload an image from My Files or Class Resources
      4. To add more matching pairs, click Add Matching Pair
      5. Click Create
  7. Click X to continue adding questions later or click Assign to schedule the assessment.
