Alt text is a short description of the image that can be read by screen readers, search engines, and assistive technologies. Providing alt text is essential for your site's accessibility. Remember to keep your alt text as short as possible and describes the content in the image.
To add image captions and Alt text to images that will allow screen readers to assist visually impaired visitors to your web site, you will log in to your site. From here you can click on your site tile, class tile, group tile or My Files to add captions and Alt text to existing images and icons or add them to new images and icons you wish to upload.
You can also add Alt Text directly to images added into a Text Block using the Alt Text icon in the Rich Text Editor.
Note: Changes made to images captions and Alt text in School/District Resources, Class Resources, Group Resources, and My Files will be applied wherever the image is used. The only exception is a link with an image in header / footer / page links list block i.e. when you modify the alternative text for this image it will be applied for the current link only.
To add captions and Alt text to images you've already uploaded, navigate to where the image is stored on your site, class, group or My Files area.
