Update Your Site Favicon (VIDEO)

Table of contents

A favicon is a 16 x 16 pixel square icon associated with a particular Web site or page. The commonly used Web browsers display a page's favicon in the browser's Address bar and next to the page's name in a list of bookmarks. The favicon icon can an image of your school's mascot or logo!

To create a favicon file from an image you already have, use one of the many favicon generators on the web. We like www.favicomatic.com. Once you have created your favicon, upload your favicon.ico file to your My Files or Resources

Where To Go

To update your favicon, you will log in to your site and click on the site tile.  From here go to Manage Web Site > Appearance > Site Info

What To Do

  1. Click Edit and then click the Add Favicon button.
  2. Select the favicon (.ico) file that has been uploaded to either your School Resources or My Files area. Choosing one of these options will display a list of available files in that area. Select your favicon and click Choose.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Click Preview to preview your changes on your public site.
  5. Click Update to update your public site with the changes you just made. A confirmation message will pop up where you can confirm that you want to continue with the update, preview your changes or cancel your update.

Note: Your changes will not display on your public site until you click Update. If you don't see an Update button on the Site Info page, you don't have any pending changes.
